In 2024, Street Cranexpress completed a successful project at Kimberly Clark’s Barrow-in-Furness site, delivering exceptional service that impressed the team at Kimberly Clark. Following on from this, we were invited back on multiple occasions to assist with ongoing project work and to manage breakdowns for three of their overhead cranes.
The scope of these repair projects involved key tasks including:
- Control panel refurbishment
- Design working period analysis with special assessment on a critical crane
- Crane control conversion from pendant to radio remote
- Hoist gearbox replacement
These successful interventions demonstrated Street Cranexpress’s capability to manage and support complex crane maintenance requirements. As a result, Kimberly Clark invited Street Cranexpress to submit a tender to service 46 overhead cranes at the Barrow-in-Furness site. The tender highlighted how Street Cranexpress manages key accounts and ensures reliable service on a daily basis.
Kimberly Clark’s confidence in Street Cranexpress was evident when the company awarded us a two-year service contract. Given the large and complex nature of the Barrow-in-Furness site, one of our highly skilled engineers will be stationed there full-time, acting as a dedicated Street Cranexpress engineer. This ensures that there will always be a dedicated professional on-site to address any crane maintenance requirements and keep Kimberly Clark’s operations running efficiently and smoothly.
