Business Development Manager - Technical (North)

The Role

To manage the development of existing customers by expanding on our agreements where necessary, in accordance with their operational requirements – alongside the management of their requirements for new lifting equipment, and the refurbishment/modernisation of existing equipment.

To source new opportunities from prospects in the open market, by identifying their new installation and refurbishment/modernisation requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage your own CRM pipeline sales prospects, and meet monthly/annual budget expectations
  • Identify and act on opportunities to expand our tender opportunities across the many different platforms that are utilised.
  • Develop long standing relationships with new and existing customers. 
  • Work closely with the Project Manager/technical estimating to maximise the issue of technical proposals to customers.
  • Attend site meetings with customers to evaluate their exact requirements and to aspire to offer technical proposals to customers in the most efficient manner.
  • Offer technical solutions to customers including a range of overhead material handling concepts including (but not limited to) overhead travelling cranes, gantries, hoists, jib cranes, light crane systems, refurbishment schemes, radio control systems, factory relocations etc.
  • Work closely with our top value customers and sales team to ensure that customer retention is a priority.

Skills, Experience, & Attributes

  • The ability to visit customer sites and understand their particular requirements, with a view to helping prepare technical proposals.
  • The ability to manage our existing database effectively, whilst sourcing your own new prospects and sales opportunities.
  • To manage your diary effectively, your sales pipeline, and work alongside other team members to help achieve the company’s sales budget.
